Salon Upgrade

When we bought the boat in 2009 the salon cushions were in pretty sad shape. We tried cleaning the cloth covers and steaming the foam to restore the shape. This worked fine for about a year before we realized they looked shabby again. We bought a nice set of used cushions to replace them and these looked great but we quickly found them to be uncomfortable for everyday lounging around. We talked to a local upholsterer and she recommended new cushions made with high quality furniture foam. We went with a thicker but softer foam and had the backs built so they angle back. We also had the port side settee modified so the center back cushion lays down and forms a table. This has worked out really great and we now spend more time hanging out in the salon. While having the new cushions made we also had the seat at the Nav station modified so the back is taller for better support.
