Sea Candy on hard times

Sunday - October 25, 2015Views: 736Taken at West of Key West, Marquesas
While anchored NW of Marquesas (West of Key West) in 10 ft over sand, with SE winds at 12 knots, we had a nice BBQ and wine. At 0100 hrs, a freak storm hit us from the West with 65 knot winds. Sea Candy spun on her anchor and was pushed ashore before I could start the engine and pull the anchor. When the sun came up we had 10 knots SE breeze, clear sky, and 2 ft of water under our keel. Towboat US out of Key West, used float bags at midnight high tide to get us off and on our way.
