This is an incredibly noisy anchorage during the day, but peaceful late at night. Use of the friendly Capital Yacht Club's dinghy dock and facilities: $16 per day. Convenient location to Metros, buses, walking to National Mall and museums. This is our 10th visit to D.C. via Island Packet. LOVE it! At present, we are the only boat anchored here. In 2003, there were 25 boats anchored at one time. With the major renovations along the waterfront in progress, we're nervous that the freedom and ease of these anchoring days may soon be ending.
