Water Tee

The large contraption built of various PVC connectors, glue and screw on 1/2" barb adaptors seems like it can all be replaced by a simple 1/2 "T" connector. Is there another purpose for this other than to connect three pieces of water hose? It was tucked away back in the water heater compartment up out of site and after 20 years started to leak. Over the season this is what dripped enought to rusted out the bottom water heater. My guess is the the threads needed to be simply re-seated with teflon tape. Now Panther has a nice new heater with a nice new connector and nice new hoses.
