The following photos give a useful visual concerning the dual vang preventer system that we installed on our boat. I can provide specifics for blocks, line lengths, etc. for anyone interested. Note that the lines come back to Garhauer footblocks mounted on brackets in the cockpit, which also route our gib sheets. The footblock clutches allow the primaries to be used for either the sheets or vang preventer. This is the ticket for a rock solid system that is multi-purpose.
