Sediment and drinking water filter

Tuesday - September 7, 2010Views: 5827
I know that some folks rely on a small pump saver screen filter to prevent sediment from affecting fresh water systems on their boats. We found the whole house filter approach worked a whole lot better.

We use this small plastic filter with replaceable 10 micron filter cartridges on our boat and it has been great for over 8 years now.

We also use an undersink drinking water filter in the galley, in lieu of other "overpriced" water filters (Seagull etc!). There are two systems that I consider more than adequate - one by GE and the other by Culligan. Both systems use screw on replacement elements that make changing the filter easy and a no mess project.

The single filter system that we originally purchased is no longer available so I have provided info on the two systems that are comparable and available.

We are using one of these at home for drinking water at the kitchen sink.
