Second Alternator added

Rather than install a generator and have the weight and complications of another complete system, we opted for an additional alternator. This addition gives us 210 amps as well as 110 amps from the single belt alternator for a total of 320 amps. This is about ideal for our battery configuration of 6 L16's providing about 1100 amp hour capacity. Now if I can just figure out how to keep the 2-0tt cable from melting! Note the bracket is from U shaped steel beam and is very rigid anchored in three planes. It is bolted to a bracket welded to the starb'd for'd engine hanger and secured to the heat exchanger and braced to the engine below the small alternator. The entire assembly can be removed by 7 bolts in about 5 minutes. Oil can be changed and valves adjusted without removong any parts.
