Rigging a Reefed Genoa

These photos show how we rigged "Turtleheart's" 155% genoa, single, double and then triple reefed. We set up snatch blocks from the midship cleats (forward of the end of the jib track) and ran the sheets through them. This enabled us to sheet the jib in tight and keep her shape the entire length of the leech, in particular at the top of the sail. Winds were 15-18 kts. gusting to 25. The shots were taken today (Nov. 23, 2007) on Long Island Sound off Stamford. Thanks to crew Steve Zwiren for this simple and effective solution.
