Remote Oil Filter

Tired of pouring oil all over the bilge, scraping knuckles and leaning on a hot engine, I had a remote oil filter kit installed on the Yanmar 4JH2E that lives in my IP 380. The kit is made by Perma-Cool, costs $49, and takes Fram PH8A filters. The filter now hangs upside down on the rear wall of the engin compartment, easy to reach and change. The schematic illustrates how it is connected.
Sid Smith, a skilled mechanic in the Baltimore area took 3 hours (some of it talking with the vendor to clarify a connection) to do the installation. So far so good.
