Ubiquiti Networks recently announced the new Bullet 2 HP WiFi radio. I purchased one and set it up to compare performance to my old 8186 radio setup. The Bullet2 outperforms the old unit by a significant margine especially in receive sensitivity. The radio provides 800mw of power output, connects directly to the antenna without the use of a lossy piece of coax, is powered via the Ethernet data cable using POE (Power over Ethernet), and starts up in about 1/2 the time. This radio is easily configured to support a single user or can be connected to an onboard router to provide your very own onboard WiFi HotSpot.
The radio measures 6 1/2" long and about 1 1/2" in diameter and weighs about 1/4 of a pound.
