Inexpensive Sun Shades

I was able to make very inexpensive (about $5 for all) sun shades for all my ports and hatches from a single automotive windshield sun shade (WalMart stocks them). I used the style shade that looks like silver bubble wrap because of its rigidity. I simply cut the shade up to make inserts that fit tightly in the rim of the hatches and ports. They are particularly effective in reducing the heat build up due to insolation when used in the overhead hatches. They are also very effective at blocking almost all the outside light thus turning the v-berth into a great napping area for our children (and maybe us too here and there ;-).
