This arch is made from aluminum and was constructed in Trinidad. The davits were set to lift the dinghy very high up for three reasons:
1. No danger from following seas in moderate passages
2. Reduces the possibility of theft when it is so high up.
3. Allows you to see out the stern of the boat from the cockpit when seated.
