A few pics of an old Yanmar GM20F water pump dismantled. The diagnosis is the cost to replace the shaft and fix kit almost equaled the price of a new pump. I've purchased a new water pump. For anyone rebuilding a pump - most of the time you only need the $10 shaft seal - not the $110 rebuild kit like the one shown.
You can also see how nice a salt water leak in the shaft can be to a pump. The new water pump is great!
