Here are some photos of my recent ICOM 802 install

I installed 2 dynaplates for RF ground. Here is the stbd plate.

Foil runs from each plate to Tuner. One foil runs forward to the transceiver.

Foil to transceiver run through bilge. Foil is now epoxied and duct taped in place away from tank.

Transceiver and Packet modem sit in outboard port cupboard under nav table.

Tuner up high in stbd lazerette. Foil is now epoxied and duct taped.

RF feed to antenna is kept off stbd backstay using fuel line hose bits and wire ties.

I put my lower insulator just below the bimini to minimize feed length, but keep above hands.

ICOM 802 control head and speaker. Nav table still opens. USB cable connects to laptop.

Airmail software is fantastic. Displayed is HF terminal and propagation forecast windows.

Herb heard loud and clear (most days) and test emails successfully sent/received. Success!
