Skipping the Miami boatshow, we decided to visit the Dry Tortugas instead. What an incredible place. Definitely the right decision. This is one of the "Must Do" places every boater should have on their list!

Downwind sailing from Key West to Tortugas, flying the spinnaker.

Fort Jefferson coming into view. You approach from East, but channel entrance is from north.

Here's the front door, crossing over moat.

Lower floor gun emplacements. The fort is six sided, 3 levels of gun emplacements.

Interior "parade field"

Shoaling between Garden Key and Bush Key. Channel is open with 9ft of water, but refilling.

Tides Inn at anchorage in the SW anchorage field. 16-20ft of water here.

Snorkling is fantastic on southern moat wall and offshore reef. Loggerhead Light in distance.

Southeastern side is beach for sunning/swimming.

True to the Tortugas namesake, we saw two large sea turtles along trip over and back.

Two fantastic sunsets, both providing "Green Flashes." Amazing
