swim platform for 1994 IP-40. was created by sid rogerson
I'm considering fabrication of a stainless steel and teak swim platform for my '94 IP-40. The access for mounting backing and bolts looks scary. Who, as an owner, has done this? I'll be using an original design unit with fixed platform and folding extension. Has anyone seen something similar?

Hey Sid,
Make two and I'll put one on the Blue Pearl!

Hi Sid:
I have taken many photos of IP swim platforms, and I have uploaded some to the link below. There are two companies that owners have used: KatoMarine.com and www.beachfiber.com/

The KatoMarine platforms are SS and Teak. The SS frame is through bolted onto the stern with access to these bolts behind the water heater, the sail locker, and the stern bilge area. If I were doing this I would cut an access panel in the back of the qtr berth wall next to the water heater access. This makes access to the stern easy.

The BeachFiber one is fiberglass and looks nice also. This one also bolts on but with a simply L bracket. This one has a nice ladder under the platform.

Here are the photos I uploaded:
