Radar dome mounting location was created by badboo
Hi everyone, Boo Box (IP35/156)
I am trying to figure out what the consensus is on mast mounted radar dome. Anyone out there with a 35 that has a mast mounted radar? thanks in advance B

We have ip35-165 and have a 48 mile raydome on the mast just under the spreaders. I would do it again just like this on our next boat. We used the KatoMarine.com ss moint that this fixed, no moving parts. It is threaded into the mast via tapped holes. We like it there and we can see targets like marks right up to the bow, almost. The reason for there, 15 ft up is for offshore waves. One owner said to mount the dome above the waves you expect to sail into when offshore, so that sold me on up the mast as a position vs the backstay or pole mounts.

Thank you Hayden, I am looking at the SIMRAD equipment hopefully it will be compatible with my B&G network 1994 electronics... I also have a different question, who makes the circular latches that open the cockpit cooler and the ice box? I bent one and trying to replace it is a challenge. the Perko and west marine brands are different size. Thanks in advance. Bor

Bor:
We use the B&G 1994 network system and we have the Raymarine RL70C chartplotter and radar unit. It works fine together via NMEA communications.

PS:
Another IP member has a full RL70C Radar/Chartplotter + Radome + RayStar GPS + all cables for sale. I will send you a private message where you can reach him and talk about it if interested.
You private message will be over in the community, you will see it there.
