Cat Tails - Summer 2011

We'll be sailing the Pamlico through most of the summer - Out to Okrakoke for "Okrafolk" next weekend, either Okrakoke or New Bern for the Fourth. Plan a run up the Chesapeke and back mid August to mid September. Stop in Rock Hall for the September Rendesvous if possible. We'll revisit some places we've been before but will poke in and out of both the Eastern and Western Shore.

Sounds like St Mary's would be a good stop. Will start to populate a wish list. We liked so many of the gunk holes the temptation will be to stick with our old favorites rather than look in new ones.

Hope to see some of you in the Bay in passing.

I'll add a few of our favorite spots in the area. Our bars and shoals move a good bit and the chartplotter content isn't very precise, so I guess a little local knowledge is in order.

Claibourne Young's "Cruising Guide to Coastal North Carolina" is out of date on facilities and some of the sailing details, but I still use it to get basic knowledge.



I try to update Active Captain as well.
