This is one of the greatest spots and anchorages in the area, and it is a perfect spot to wait for weather. The anchorage is called RUM POINT and your charts will show that the entrance is only 2-3 feet deep. WRONG...it has been dredged out for the 50 foot+ yachts that are docked behind homes in the this cove. The entrance has local homemade daymarks to guide you in, but simply stay in the middle all the way in. Once you get into the creek there will be a pond/cove to starboard. Wait until this is abeam, then turn in. Inside this pond you can easily anchor 5-8 yachts. If the cove is full, then anchor to port where there is another wide area. You can take the dinghy over to the casino and dock it for dinner if you like, but the current runs fast (3knots) in the inlet, so take a dinghy anchor and radio! We have spent a week here on anchor working on Drexel University Graduate school, it is always calm and empty during the week.
