Today, with an COLD ICE/SNOW day here in the Northeast, I spent some time figuring out how to add the app for Facebook log in! This may not seem like a big deal, but trust me....IT IS A BIG DEAL. First of all, Facebook has become the most popular and the largest web site in the world. You may want to ignore it, and you may think that it is a fad, but it is here to stay. So....today....I jumped in and studied the application developers web site at Facebook and learned how to make our own IPYOA app.
This app, right now, will allow you to use your Facebook username and password to login to IPYOA.com. At log in, the app will ask you if you want IPYOA to pull over your Avatar from Facebook. If you allow this, by leaving the checkbox checked, then IPYOA will load up your avatar/picture once your are logged in.
The negative aspect, one that I am still working on, is for people that are already members here in IPYOA. If an existing member of IPYOA logs in with Facebook, then IPYOA will create a NEW user for this person not knowing that the person already exists. OK, so we have a small glitch, no big deal, I will work on this.
The positive news is, for NEW USERS of IPYOA, they will arrive and see Facebook, and they can easily join our network simply by using their accounts back over on Facebook.
So, I am very excited to have spent all day today working on this app, and I hope this will make IPYOA even more user friendly for all to use.
