LED Light Strip

Saturday - August 21, 2010Views: 6521
Two nights ago we were on an Aussie boat down the dock and they showed us a LED light strip that they found in a local car shop here in Malaysia. It comes in a five-meter strip with a 3M sticky back for installation. It is about as flexible as a piece of string so it goes anywhere. The big news however, is that it is cutable in 2 foot lengths at copper contact links, also molded into the strip. You simply cut the strip at the copper link and solder a pos. and neg. lead to the copper bits. That leaves the rest of the strip for the next project. They run on 12VDC. And are only about $60us for 5 meters.

There must be a million applications for these on a boat and Amy found one right away. Check this out!
