We decided to remove the shuttle cars from our boom and go with standard single line reefing. We used 1/2" line and ran it in the standard way. Starting at the cockpit it go the mast base then up to the sail cringle then down into the boom goosneck (where these sheeves need to be thru bolted) then thru the boom to the end then out and up to the leech reef point and then down to the boom and tied with with a running bowline around the boom. We sailed this the other day as a test and it seems to work well. DETAILS: Reef #1 1/2" x 53' Reef #2 1/2" x 78' Measure your own sail to make sure.
