Estrellita in the Galapagos

Greetings from the Southern Hemisphere!
It took us 11 days and 2 hours to sail… drift, the 1000 miles from Balboa, Panama to the Galapagos Islands. We knew going into the deal that it would be a light wind passage but we had no idea. After a couple days of motoring we had to drift a few to conserve fuel. Eventually a weather pattern developed that allowed us to sail slowly overnight and motor during the day. Even though we were averaging only about 80 miles a day, we were steadily grinding out the miles and cutting the distance to the Galapagos.
Once there we had a blast. Our friends Theresa and Patty joined us for 10 days. We took a couple day tours, saw the sights and really enjoyed their visit.
Here are a couple links to videos of our passage and scuba adventures in the Galapagos. We have also finally submitted some video from our Panama Canal transit.
