preventive maintainance was created by Sea Star
Hello All,
Having just helped the Captain repair a clogged Sea Land vacuflush(freshwater flush) head system that has been modified to pump overboard as an alternative, I have a few questions.
We have the white, special odor hose- can you put vinegar or something else(what?) to stop the build-up of nasty, chunky deposits in there? If so, how to get the mixture through the hoses? How often is reasonable to put something through?
We are in a live aboard situation, so constant use daily of both heads. All I can find from Sea Land relates to putting monthly detergent in the holding tank which is not now in use. I saw the calcium remover tablets advertised on this site. Anybody use them?
The flush ball system seems too fragile to really scrub as suggested-can you misalign the ball easily? Thank You. Kathy

Kathy:

Vinegar in the system is a good thing. You will have to see how much solution you have to use to make sure that the hoses are allowed to soak properly.
