While replacing the water heater element, limit switch, and thermostat (Seaward), I noticed water was leaking where the bilge hose is attached to the plastic thru hull fitting.
Has anyone replaced the original plastic mushroom thru hull fitting with stainless steel on IP350?
If so, what size and length?  I know the hose size is 1-1/2 seaflex Marine II.
The original hose (1999) cracked due to the strain in the bend on the thru hull fitting.  I am planning on replacing with a stainless steel mushroom with a 90 deg barb.  I will also be using the Trident Seaflex Marine II 250/100 hose.
Any thoughts on whether this is a good or bad idea?

It's a bear to get to these fittings. For flex hose, I'd recommend Raritan Sani/Flex Sanitation Hose. (Defender has it) Raritan has 1 -1/2" size and it would be fine for bilge pump (not for exhaust hose). It is much much more flexible than other brands. If you can eliminate the 90deg bend, you will get better flow. For thruhull we just stayed with the originals. Didn't have to replace them. Marlon might be a good alternative to SS, if it fits better for doing the bend, just with the hose.
