My float on my water tank sensor does not float.  I am trying to find a replacement.  It is 12” with a 1.5” thread top.  Looking to replace the whole unit.  Sensor gauge works great.  Trying to locate new part.  I am in Annapolis,Maryland area.  Thanks Tom

September 7, 2023 update: (NOTE: WRONG PART Numbers)  I found a website kus-usa.com that is showing the part that I need (Mechanical Sight Level Gauge –MGES-12 1.5? NPT with sensor wires and 12" long).  I have ordered the part but it will take 2-3 weeks to process.  I was not able to order directly on their website since the option that I wanted was not available.  It took about 6 calls and 4 emails to get the part ordered.  I have not received the part, but I will update this email. <-- these guys never placed the order.
Another option would be to order the part from Fisheries Supply:  S5U Tank Level Sensor, 1-1/2NPT - 12"  SKU: 204033 Item ID: WEM S5U12 <-- this one has a metal top.  The one that I ordered has a plastic top with an additional visual gauge.  My original part also had a plastic top.

September 28, 2023 update:  I got the part from Fisheries Supply, however I have to return it since the 1 1/2" NTP is too big.  I am going to order the S3U Series Threaded Fuel/Water Tank Sensors - 12" and see if that works

FYI -- I installed the S3U Series Threaded Fuel or Water Tank Sensor - 12"
SKU: 158836 Item ID: WEM S3U12 and it is working great. I could only get one full turn by hand installing it. I was afraid of stripping the threads.

I just installed the same on my water tank (‘99 350). I studied the threads on the old plastic sender and the new S3U and am certain it is BPT (I had bought the S5U first). I had the same concern with stripping the threads, so cleaned them with some lime scale remover and tooth brush (you may want to completely flush the tank after). I completely emptied my tank then added vinegar, sprayed inside with a hose via sender hole. Drained via shop vac and rinsed a couple times. Then I coated the threads on the sender with Lanacote paste. This will help prevent dissimilar metals corrosion and also lube the threads. Then I slowly tightened it, going about a 1/4 turn when there was resistance and then backing off. Pull the sender and inspect the threads as you go, as the sender threads will chew up the aluminum tank threads if cross threaded.I was able to eventually get the sender fully seated on the o-rings, maybe 3-4 revolutions. You should not need any threaded tape; be sure to have both o-rings on the sender.
