IP465 hot water tank was created by aryall
Ours is leaking and getting worse. The space it is fitted in has a hatch much smaller than the tank and the connections are right up against a bulkhead so impossible to do anything other than check jubilee clips. It looks like the only way to get it out is to disconnect and remove all 3 fridge compressors.

Any suggestions welcome and a question. Who thought it was a good idea to install a hot water tank in an enclosed space just below the fridge compressors, one of which is air cooled?

Which option did you choose? remove the refrigeration, cut the settee above the water heater, or isolate and live without the water heater?
We are on IP445-11 S/V Make Me Laugh Again. Our water heater is under the settee forward of the galley, in front of the refrigeration. The hatch above the water heater is way too small to get it out. The three compressors are behind it. I contacted the factory and was told that was the access for the water heater, I asked them if they were given the choice to cut the settee or remove the refrigeration which would they do? they said cut the settee.

Oh, and sometimes our water heater leaks and sometimes it does not. We have a new water heater taking up space in the forward cabin, and the threat appears to have "scared" the old one into not leaking! LOL!
