Waste Holding tank replacement for 1991 IP 29 was created by Captain Krusty
My 1st post here. MY wife and I are so excited about our IP 29 that we recently purchased. Always dreamed of owning an IP. Unfortunately the original metal holding tank failed on the 2cnd day of a two day trip to the boats new home and it needs replacing before we can use it.. I wondered if anyone can recommend a plastic tank replacement that could give a few more gallons of storage?

I have a 91 29 also. I had to change my holding tank out a couple of years ago. I could not locate a plastic one that fit so I went back with the metal one. The aluminum is a thicker gauge now and they do offer a plastic coating on the inside of the tank as a option. That's what I went with from the original manufacturer, can't remember the name of the co ? Easy access on the 29 for the tank and not very expensive either. I just remembered I also had them add a hole in the top for a gauge.

Hi,Captain Krusty

My wife and i have just acquired a IP 29, 1991, this last fall in Montreal, We navigate on the Saint-Lawrence River and Gulf.

We have in common the same problem: changing the waste tank. The space available under the port front bench is quite small, 13 us gallons, or 49,2 litres. Next to this space is where is installed the Y valve seacock and pump.

Our first idea was to expand the volume by cutting the wood division and modified the set up or take it out. But, we choose to keep it untouched and to install a flexible Vetus waste tank of 55 litres or 14,5 litres, ain't much gain! It's not done yet, we've asked a boat technician to come and assert its feasibility or give us a better strategy, In a week or so, we'll have this confirmed and I'll try to get back to you.

Bons vents (French)

Daniel

P.S. I'm doing the exterior wood with Cetol Marine Natural Teak.
