IP40 Port Cockpit Drain Hose

Your best way to access these and to work on the hoses is to cut an access panel centerline aft in the qtr berth. I did this years ago and it is great. This gives you easy access to work on these cockpit drains, the auto pilot and the rudder post for inspections. Reach in from the sail locker and locate the water hoses and cooling hoses that run along this back wall. Drill pilot holes to guild you from the qtr berth. Drill these by reaching in from the sail locker. This way, when you cut from the qtr berth side you will NOT cut into your coolant hoses.

After cutting out the panel, it is plywood, then simply add surface trim of teak and screw it back into place. It will look just like the water heater access panel.
