Wet Exhaust Hose Replacement

A recent survey of my 2000 IP380 suggested replaceing the wet exhaust hose from the mixing elbow to the thru-stern. I can in fact see small hairline cracks on the surface of the 2.5-inch wire reinforced hose.

The problem is accessing the hose connection at the interior side of the discharge or thru-stern.

Has anyone tackled this challenge?

Hi Guenther,
I’ve the same problem on my IP 350 from 1999. Did you find a solution? Do you have some advice?

Many Thanks

Giuseppe

Yes, replacing the hose on an IP380 can be tricky due to limited access to the thru-hull connection. A few solutions others have used include  tropical-casino.com/  Removing the aft cabin panel or accessing through a cockpit locker to gain better reach.

Using a flexible hose or a longer reach hose clamp tool to handle tight spaces.

Detaching the exhaust elbow to make the removal easier.
It can be a tight fit, so patience and possibly a second set of hands are crucial.
