Description
Sailing aboard an Island Packet 40, Larking About, this is the view from the quarter berth port. Winds are 30-35 knots, sail set is a triple reefed jib, full cutter and triple reefed main. Beam Reaching at hull speeds.
Comments
The waves were hard to judge, some crew members called then 20 foot, others said 6-8 feet. I don't know, but I can tell you this....from a seated cockpit seat and the boat would be down in the trough, the crest of the next wave was OVER THE SOLAR PANELS which are on the top of the bimini.
This video is from below deck. I would guess the eye level view off the water to be around 6 feet. Some of these rollers then roll under the boat and I needed to look UP to see over them....
