I was wondering if anyone has done a serious compounding job on their hull.
The hull on my IP38 had faded to a nice, even white until the guys in a Trinidad boat yard got their hands on it, supposedly to wax it. Now I have blotchy patches of the original IP "beige" showing through.
Would a complete compounding of the hull bring it back evenly?
Thanks

Thanks Ron and Bobby for the info. I got the gasket material through IP and they recommended household caulking/adhesive. I guess any decent waterproof adhesive will do. I'm just being cautious 'cause a really don't want to do it twice!

We've been using a very simple preventer system designed by Wichard. We picked it up at the Annapolis boat show a couple of years ago. Basically it is comprised of a simple bracket that attaches to your boom and a special piece of friction line that is looped through it, once, twice or three times depending on the size of boat. I then simply used my old IP genoa blocks in the track to run the lines back to the cockpit. This method means adding another set of genoa blocks in the tracks, but having blown both out on an IP40 coming down to the Caribbean, I think they needed upgrading anyway.
Best,

Hi, can anyone advise on the proper way to replace gaskets for ports ie: what adhesive and any issues during installation that may help. We have an IP 38.

Hi,
I've heard that the raw water pump on my Yanmar 4JH engine is a Jabsco, or has a Jabsco crossover number. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
