There is very exciting news at the Island Packet Yachts factory with the new majority owners of Hake Marine being Darrell and Leslie Allen of Sun Coast Yachts San Diego, CA. Hayden,

It appears the boats are longer, e.g. new 490 vs old 460. Did they build new molds for the hulls or just lengthen the bow sprits?

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,
No change to the boat dimensions with the "new" models (only the 520 is actually new). The new boat numbers now better represent the overall length, which never related exactly to the old numbers. However, the new numbers still have various inconsistencies, e.g. the last digit "5" always means a center cockpit but the last digit for the 379 seems to correspond to a decimal foot, but not for the 360, 460, or 520, which are rounded up or down to the nearest foot. The nominal boat dimensions for the old numbers are all available under IP Model Info on the IP Home Port website, but I believe even those figures may be a little doubtful compared to the actual boat, depending on where you measure to exactly.
