engine rpm was created by a Guest
I have a 31' IP, w/27 hp 3 cyl yanmar. what rpme should she idle and what rpm at full load?

We had that engine in our 27. Idle should be 800 rpms and full out without a load is about 3600 with a full loaded prop about 3000. If the prop is over pitched like most are, then full loade rpms will be less.

If your RPM's are low, the very first thing to check is barnacles or a fouled prop. This is fast and cheap. Just need a snorkle and a paint scraper. If that doesn't cure your problem pull the riser ("U-shaped) on the top of the exhaust manifold. They 'carbon-up' and block the flow of exhaust. Mike
