In an older post (#2080), VicC stated "There is a steering play adjustment mechanism. It is located over the quadrent and holds the quadrent down onto the pinion gear."

I would really like to have some written guidance concerning this adjustment. Vic, if you are still around, could you send me a copy of the material you have? Or if someone else has done this, give me a summary of the process, please?
During hurricane Irma, somehow Whimsy's quadrant slipped one tooth (of the pinion) out of alignment. (She was sitting on the bottom of her slip for several hours as Irma blew by.) I want to put this back, so that the rudder is truly amidship when the king spoke of the wheel is straight up. I'm hoping that I can open up this adjustment enough to be able to slip back one tooth.
Thanks in advance.
