Note that the (2) pivot plates that hold the centerboard inside the CB well are each attached with three ~5" stainless screws -- they take a #3 phillipshead screwdriver (a big sucker) and a good deal of patience. The CB cable is attached with a nicropress sleave through a fittiing on the back of the board.

This document discusses how to add Chainplate weep holes to allow water to drain out of the chainplate structure. Water may leak into the chainplates from poorly maintained deck sealant. Deck chainplate sealant needs to be serviced often, check yours. This was written by Tom Broome at the IPY factory when this topic was first talked about back in 2005.
