Hi all,

I just created a group for the North Carolina Sailing area.  Check it out.

Well we might have missed Fall 2011 but how about Spring 2012? April 20 or 27 or May 4 at South River, just east of the confluence of the Neuse River and ICW?

Thanks, John, for setting up the NC group. Bet this will be a good venue to engage the local Packets, and I suspect there's more of us than we know of right now. I keep my IP320 at Blackbeard's, and there's a 29 there, too, owned by Tom Hawk (sp?). As you likely know, there's also several IPs at Northwest Creek Marina.
Had a couple of good mini cruises in April, but since then have been busy w/ the wife's medical concerns. Just a/b have that behind us, but wouldn't you know, it's June and HOT.
I suspect Sept or Oct would be a good timeframe for a minivous. As I have limited cruising experience, I'll defer suggested locations to others. For sure, South River would be ideal, and perhaps, is it Cedar Creek, off of Adams Creek?, would be another option. However, if we gathered at Oriental, folks would have more things to do and add'l facilities and support. I'm just excited a/b meeting other owners and seeing more Packets!

Mike, I think either Oriental or Ocracoke wold be good and either place we could organize some events on land. I have never been to a minivous so I don't know what generally happens at these events.

Hello Fellow NC IP'ers.

Don't forget Beaufort and Cape Lookout as potential venues for a great get-together. While the cape requires self sufficiency (no restaurants or docks) You can't beat it for great clean water, plenty of room, great holding and protection... not to mention it is beautiful!

Greg, you have a good point - doesn't get any better! Especially for those taking the outside. Cedar Creek, Oriential or South River might work for a larger group, i.e. to accomodate those using the ICW.
